A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse who has completed advanced education and training in the diagnosis and management of common medical conditions, including chronic illnesses. I have a special interest in helping people who are suffering from depression or anxiety related to their diagnosis of cancer. If you decide that you would like the support of someone who understands the tasks that are before you, please contact me. I will work closely with you and your doctors to treat your depression and/or anxiety. I use Cognitive Therapy to help patients’ problem solve and address current issues and concerns. It can be frightening to face this diagnosis. You can learn how to navigate this new chapter of your life. I look forward to helping you and your family during this time. If medication for depression or anxiety would be helpful during your treatment, I am able to prescribe for you. The emphasis in treatment is educating the patient and supporting him/her through their treatment. Therapy is brief-from 6 to 10 sessions, and affordable.
